The 7th annual PHLYTRI will host an entire weekend of multisport events including: the PHLYTRI Olympic distance race (1.5K swim, 40K bike and 10K run) which for the second year will be part of the Life Time Fitness Triathlon Series Race to the Toyota Cup, the PHLYTRI Sprint distance race (.9K swim, 24K bike and 5K run), Kids Fun Runs & Duathlons and a two-day multi-sport expo. Scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, Ironman 70.3 Pocono Mountains will take place in and around the scenic Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area with a fantastic finish down Main Street in historic Stroudsburg, PA. The inaugural race will mark the first Ironman event in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and will include a multisport expo and other interactive events. Course maps and additional race details will be announced in the coming months.

The sport of triathlon always gets my writing juices flowing. For different reasons, so does the topic of death and losing a loved one. So I can’t quite understand why when those two subjects combine as one that I am practically at a loss for words.
