The 2009 ING New York City Marathon was truly an amazing experience. I raced NYC this year as part of Ethan Zohn’s charitable organization Grassroot Soccer (GRS) which raises funds for AIDS and HIV education and awareness. Our team raised a combined $150,000 for the cause.

This event also connected me with Ethan Zohn. It was very cool how a soccer goalkeeping idol of mine growing up – Shep Messing – reached out to me and introduced me to Ethan when Ethan was first diagnosed with lymphoma.
